With this in mind, Mellross heads into the final round, knowing if he focuses on himself and taking the win, he will have done all he can in his bid to win his first senior Australian title.
"What a season so far! New bike, broken toes, a few fourths as they started to heal and some race wins when it counts," Mellross reflected.
"I personally really like the triple crown format. It really brings out the consistency of everyone ‰ÛÒ when you‰Ûªre trying to win a championship, you have to put in consistent rides to get that championship.
I‰Ûªm going in there this weekend to just solely win. I‰Ûªve put a lot of hard work in, and I feel great. I know that, if I ride like I can and let everything unfold like it‰Ûªs going to, anything can happen no matter what.
Team Owner Dale Hocking can't wait for this weekend's big finale and watching his rider take aim at the big prize.
"It's great to finish not only the season but our year, at an event like this: huge crowds, close racing and some of the world's best to show that our homegrown talent is competitive around the world," Hocking commented.
"Hayden is focused on doing the job in front of him. He wants to take this SX2 Championship, and his only option is to win this weekend and let rest of the cards fall.
