Triple world champion Greg Hancock insists he won‰Ûªt ease off the throttle at the QBE Insurance Australian FIM Speedway Grand Prix, despite standing just three points from an historic title No.4.
Hancock is just a heat win away from glory, and could seal the title without turning a wheel if Tai Woffinden drops three points and Bartosz Zmarzlik loses one before he takes to the track.
But having romped to a 21-point maximum to win the Aussie round last year, Grin won‰Ûªt be backing off the gas even if speedway‰Ûªs biggest prize is guaranteed.
‰ÛÏI want to win. I‰Ûªm feeling good and everything is working, so it‰Ûªs just a case of carrying on what I‰Ûªm doing and chasing the dream," Hancock explained.
‰ÛÏWinning the title and stepping down has never been my thing. I‰Ûªm not going to just let everyone else race for the rest of the points and prize money. There‰Ûªs always something at stake and I‰Ûªm chasing whatever is there for the taking. It‰Ûªs hard to let anything go, no matter what situation I‰Ûªm in.‰Û
