Glenn Macdonald and his Glenn Macdonald Racing (GMR-KTM) operation will take over the running of the factory Motorex KTM Junior Team for 2008 and beyond. Previously, Motorex KTM backed junior riders were run in house, but Macdonald and his team will now be responsible for the team's activities and will formally take up his new role in October in preparation for next season. Motorex will continue to be the major sponsor of the team which will be larger than in previous years and will consist of some of the hottest junior riders from across the country. Macdonald will also manage Motorex KTM rider Kristy Gillespie in her attack on the Australian Women's Championship and other major events for next season. Although this will see the winding-down of the Victorian dealership based focus of the GMR-KTM team as it is currently known, it will make way for an incredible opportunity for both KTM Australia and Glenn Macdonald in the consolidated approach. "I am really excited about my future with KTM and the direction that we are heading with GMR Motorex KTM junior and senior women's racing. The infrastructure that I have developed over the years, most recently with GMR-KTM, will compliment the elite nature and prestige that already exists with the Motorex team and will elevate it to a whole new level." The full rider line-up has not yet been made official but will be released shortly.
