KTM‰Ûªs MX Nationals-leading duo Kirk Gibbs and Luke Styke will proudly carry the colours of past KTM glory into this weekend's retro seventh round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals at Shepparton, in north-eastern Victoria.
Gibbs, who leads Australia's premier motocross championship by 60 points, and second-placed Styke, who holds a 17-point buffer over Adam Monea, will ride their KTM 450 SX-F machines into battle dressed in the colours of the great KTM race machines of the mid-80s.
‰ÛÏAfter the last round I got some really good days in riding and I‰Ûªve felt really comfortable on the bike and got some good training in also. I'm ready to go." Gibbs commented.
"It‰Ûªs great to take a decent points lead into this round, but were still a long way from the finish so as usual the goal is to just go out there to ride to my best ability, minimise the mistakes and maximise the points.
"I've heard it's a little bit of a tighter track at Shepparton, which might be a bit harder for the 450s, but not many people know about this track so it should be pretty evenly contested.‰Û
