Located in the Belgian province of Limburg the notoriously deep sand track of Lommel hosted this weekend‰Ûªs 14th round of the 2019 World Motocross Championship.
The MXGP class saw HRC‰Ûªs Tim Gajser once again top the podium with two second place finishes and a further increase of his lead of this year‰Ûªs championship. The Slovenian HRC‰Ûªs star now leads the championship by 187 points with four rounds to go.
"It was a great weekend, finishing two-two for first overall in Lommel." Gajser reflected. "My riding was good, especially because in the past I‰Ûªve struggled here but we‰Ûªve worked hard this year with the team and it really paid off.
"We‰Ûªve prepared a lot better for these tough conditions and it was certainly helped by two good starts, just like we have done so often this year.
"I wasn‰Ûªt able to win a moto but I rode smoothly and smart and I minimised any mistakes. I‰Ûªm just so happy to win here in Lommel, because it is a special GP and a good test and just shows how much I‰Ûªve progressed as a rider."
