KTM Motocross Racings, Ford Dale returned to the track for the first time in the championship after a practice crash just prior to the season opener left him with a broken left arm, and set about knocking the rust off with two modest race finishes to test the conditioning levels.
After qualifying in 9th position Dale rode consistently to post a 12th place finish in the opening moto before racing to 16th in moto two after a early race fall.
While not completely happy with his 15th overall result in the MX1 class for the round, Dale knows this is just the first of many steps on his return to the top of Australian racing.
‰ÛÏIt was good to be back at the track with the boys, I haven‰Ûªt been racing with the team since New Zealand so that was great." Dale stated.
"I‰Ûªm not happy with my day obviously, but I guess I‰Ûªve got to take baby steps at first. I haven‰Ûªt been back on the bike long and have missed half the season. Nothing can replicate race fitness unfortunately, when you‰Ûªre having to hang onto a 450 on a real fast track.
"But I know what I‰Ûªm capable of and I won‰Ûªt be happy until I‰Ûªm winning. You‰Ûªve got to start somewhere. But it‰Ûªll come.‰Û
