Infront Moto Racing has announced an update to the 2025 MXGP calendar, with Finland stepping in to replace Indonesia.
Originally scheduled for 6 July 2025, the MXGP of Indonesia will now be replaced by the MXGP of Finland at the KymiRing circuit in Iitti on 12-13 July 2025.
The return of MXGP to Finland is a significant moment for the nation’s passionate motocross community. Located 140km northeast of Helsinki, the KymiRing is a world-class motorsport venue that promises to deliver an unforgettable event. Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo expressed excitement about bringing the championship back to Finland, recognizing the country’s deep motorsport heritage. “It is with great pleasure that MXGP returns to one of the most passionate motorsport nations in the world,” he said. “KymiRing will provide a fantastic facility for riders, teams, and fans alike, ensuring an incredible experience for everyone involved.”
The last Finnish MXGP was held in Vantaa in 2023, and anticipation is high for the event’s return. Finland’s connection to motocross runs deep, with the Kawasaki Racing Team—managed by Finnish legend Antti Pyrhönen and owned by former Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen—playing a key role in the sport’s presence on the world stage. The 2025 event at KymiRing will feature the elite MXGP and MX2 classes, alongside the EMX250 and EMX125 support series, giving fans a full weekend of high-level racing action.
KymiRing’s Managing Director, Kornél Ory, emphasised the importance of this event for the circuit and Finnish motorsport. “We can’t wait to start working alongside local communities and the federation to create something spectacular,” he said. “Motocross has deep roots in Finland, and MXGP is a thrilling championship that fits perfectly with our vision for KymiRing. We sincerely thank the promoter for their trust and are committed to delivering a world-class event for Finnish fans.”
With a modern track, dedicated fan base, and a strong history in motocross, Finland is set to deliver an exciting round of the 2025 MXGP season.
