Young female riders will now have a path to follow in the footsteps of trailblazers like Australia’s Jess Gardiner, as the new Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup provides a platform for the next generation of champions

The FIM EnduroGP World Championship is expanding its reach with the introduction of the FIM Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup for 2025, aiming to provide young female riders with a new platform to compete at the world level.

This new category is designed to encourage and support emerging talent, giving young women an opportunity to develop their skills on the global stage.

Open to riders under 23 years of age as of January 1 of the championship year, the Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup will follow the same format, schedule, and calendar as the established FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship. The new class serves as a crucial stepping stone for riders aiming to break into the senior ranks and compete for world championship titles. Similar to other youth divisions in motorsport, it will provide a competitive environment where young female athletes can gain experience and build their careers in enduro.

Competitors will be required to hold a valid motorcycle driving licence to participate, with further details on the category to be released in the coming months. The opening round of the 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship will take place in Fafe, Portugal, from April 4 to 6.

Carla Alvarenga, Managing Director of Prime Stadium Eventos, the promoters of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, expressed enthusiasm about the new category, noting that it reflects the championship’s commitment to inclusivity. “We are constantly striving to be more inclusive, and this category allows aspiring young female athletes to gain experience in enduro while competing on the world stage,” Alvarenga said. “It’s a perfect stepping stone to the already successful FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship. Let’s hope that in a few years, we will see our future world champions emerge from this new class.”
