Emil Sayfutdinov tops Betard Wroclaw SGP qualifying chart

World Championship leader Emil Sayfutdinov admitted any further success in 2019 is a bonus after he roared to the top of the Betard Wroclaw FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland qualifying chart.

Sayfutdinov clocked a 15.746-second lap to earn first pick of starting positions for Saturday‰Ûªs meeting.

It continues an extraordinary month for the Russian racer, who ended his six-year search for an FIM Speedway Grand Prix win in Hallstavik on July 6, before inspiring Russia to their second straight Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations world title in Togliatti on July 20 and 21.

Those two triumphs already ensure 2019 will go down as a successful season for Sayfutdinov. And despite leading the SGP standings, the Leszno and Balakovo rider says the focus is on others in the title race.
Sayfutdinov, who is level on 47 points with Poland‰Ûªs Patryk Dudek and Denmark‰Ûªs Leon Madsen at the top, said: ‰ÛÏTo be honest, my goal for this year is done. I am world champion with Russia and I have won a Grand Prix in Hallstavik. If I can do anything else, I will be happy and we will see.

‰ÛÏI think the riders for this season are the Polish guys and Madsen ‰ÛÒ they are so quick. Tai (Woffinden) is back and he is quick. I just need to do my work.‰Û
