Dean Wilson got his 2013 East Coast 250SX championship aspirations off to the perfect start over the weekend, winning the opening round of the 2013 Monster Energy AMA Supercross East Regional championship in Arlington.
While battling for the 250SX West championship last year, Wilson suffered a season ending shoulder injury that seen the Scotsman sidelined for 10 months while he recovered.
Wilson returned to the track on Saturday night and was the fastest qualifier all day. He did not get the greatest start in his heat race after a downed rider held him up in the first turn.
Wilson but quickly started working towards the front of the pack. Four laps into the six lap heat, Wilson was in second and catching the leader before the leader Zach Bell took a gruesome crash resulting in a red flag.
Wilson lined up in front of the field in a staggered start and finished off the final two laps to take the win.
In the main event, Wilson got a great start and took over the lead on the first lap, going on to Lead all 15 laps, taking the checkered flag for his first win of the season.
