Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Dean Wilson will likely miss this weekend's second round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship in Houston, Texas, after confirming injuries are worse than first thought following a heavy crash at round 1.
Wilson landed hard on his shoulder after going over the bars and landing shoulder on into the face of an upcoming jump. As a result, he was taken away to the medical center for evaluation and took no further part in the event.
"Seen the Dr yesterday. The man upstairs was looking after me, Nothing is torn I got very lucky," Wilson said on social media.
"The MRI report is I got a bad contusion in my shoulder a strained rotator cuff and bone bruising also a sprained wrist.
"Dr said my muscles in my shoulder are so beat up it‰Ûªs like someone took a meat hammer and battered them. So anyways I‰Ûªm lucky nothing is torn. I will be doing therapy every day with @teamdrg and doing everything in my power to be back.
"It‰Ûªs not likely I will make Houston as I still can‰Ûªt lift my arm up but I will just take it day by day. Thank you, everybody, for the get well wishes and prayers sent I appreciate you all We will be back. Thanks to all for sticking with me."
