Date change for for Round 3 of GP Juniors Australia at Wakefield Park

Posted:

Motorcycling Australia together with GP Juniors Australia Management have advised of a date change to the third round of the Australian Junior Road Racing Championships.

The new date for round three will now be September 3-4, a month later than the original date of August 6-7, at the same venue, Wakefield Park (NSW)

The difficult decision to change the date was made after consultation with many parties, due to the fact that the original date clashes with the Australian Junior Dirt Track Championships at Gunnedah (NSW) and a round of the Hartwell Road Racing Championships at Broadford (VIC) on the same weekend.

This may have compromised competitors and their families as to which event to attend, and subsequently with no other events clashing with the September dates, allows everyone involved in the 2016 Australian Junior Road Racing Championships, with the opportunity to compete in the third round and gain valuable points toward their championship aspirations.

The third round of the GP Juniors Australia will race as part of the program for the one-round 2016 NSW Road Racing Championships, promoted by the St George Motorcycle Club.

The NSW Road Racing Championships will be a two-day event, however, Wakefield Park Raceway is putting on an open practice day for the event on the Friday September 2, as well as a ride day on Thursday September 1.

There is no camping available at the Wakefield Park venue, although self-contained cabins are available.
