Damien Cudlin and the S 1000 RR heads into the night

Posted:

Team BMW Motorrad France 99 goes into this weekends (September 24-25) round of the Qtel FIM Endurance World Championship with an overall lead of 6 points.

The BMW S 1000 RR team of Frenchmen Sabastien Gimbet, Erwan Nigon, Australian, Damian Cudlin and reserve rider, Hugo Marchand, go into the famous Le Mans 24 Hour with confidence following their excellent performance at Suzuka 8 Hour and Gimbert and Nigon finishing 1st and 2nd in the FSBK.

A huge crowd of over 100,000 is expected at the Circuit Buggatti to watch an epic battle that will test motorcycles, teams and riders to the limit. From the sight of riders sprinting to their machines in the 'Le Mans Start' to the sceptical of Superbikes blasting through the darkness, the Le Mans 24 Hour is a motorcycle unrivalled festival.

Damian Cudlin is looking forward to the race.

"I've done this race every year since 2006, with different teams, on different bikes and with different tyres. But this year I'll be racing with by far the best package I've ever had," Cudlin enthused.

The BMW S 1000 RR has proved ultra-competitive already this season, we know that Michelin have a solution for every condition, the team are experienced and I've got two very fast teammates in SÌÄå©bastien and Erwan. I couldn't ask for more. Everything looks good, but this is endurance racing and anything can happen in 24 hours, so we also need Lady Luck to be on our side, or at least not against us, this weekend. I'll be happy if we make it to the chequered flag, but even more so if it's in first place!"

"I really hope we can win the World Championship this year, and that remains our priority right now. Fingers crossed we'll have something to celebrate at the end of this race..." he concluded.
