Cooper Webb will be sitting out this weekend’s penultimate round of the Pro Motocross Championship at Budds Creek as he prioritises his recovery for the upcoming SuperMotocross World Championship Finals.
The multi-time champion sprained his thumb during a crash in Moto 2 at Unadilla and has decided to take a cautious approach to his return. He will reevaluate his condition ahead of next weekend’s race at Ironman.
Webb shared his thoughts, stating, “Sitting out this weekend is not the news I wanted to share, but I’m very thankful the scans came back good, only showing a sprain. Despite the tough conditions and the injury, I had a great time being back with my team at Unadilla. I’m going to play it smart, rest for a few days, and focus on SMX and beyond.”
In positive news for the team, Eli Tomac is making his highly anticipated return to racing this weekend. Tomac, eager to make his mark, will be competing in his first outdoor round of the season.
Additionally his Star Yamaha teammate Justin Cooper is ready for action at Budds Creek Motocross Park. Cooper is determined to fight for a top spot and finish the season on a high note.
The stage is set for an exciting weekend of racing, despite Webb’s temporary absence, as Tomac and Cooper aim to make an impact in the final rounds of the season.
