Cooper Webb and Haiden Deegan delivered standout performances at Round 7 of the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross Championship at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, each claiming victory in their respective classes.
In the 450 class, Cooper Webb rebounded from a tough opening moto to win the final two races, securing the overall victory by just one point over Ken Roczen. Chase Sexton once again saw a potential win slip away due to mistakes while leading, ultimately settling for third overall.
Meanwhile, in 250SX West, Haiden Deegan put on a show, charging through the field in Race 2 before sealing the overall victory with a 1-1-2 score. The win marked his second of the season and propelled him to the top of the championship standings, now six points ahead of former leader Julien Beaumer.
450 class
Only the top 18 riders advanced from qualifying into the main events, and in a surprising turn, Justin Hill was the fastest rider of the day. He set the time to beat with a blistering 47.656-second lap in the second qualifying session, becoming the only rider to dip into the 47-second range. Justin Cooper and Roczen weren’t far behind, finishing second and third, just tenths off Hill’s pace.
The session was incredibly tight, with positions two through eight all within a second of each other. Sexton, the co-points leader with Webb, topped the first 450 qualifying session, while Webb struggled, qualifying a disappointing seventh.

In the final laps, Webb pushed hard to improve his time, but Jason Anderson wasn’t pleased with a move Webb made while fighting for track position. Anderson let him know in classic fashion, adding some extra drama to the session. As a result, Webb will start with the seventh gate pick, while his fellow red plate holder Sexton will line up fifth. Anderson, who qualified fourth, will also start from the front.
Hill spoke before the season about putting in the effort to improve and make a push for the front. With consistently strong results, he lined up first for the night’s main event. Meanwhile, Kyle Chisholm made history, surpassing Jeremy McGrath for the most main event qualifications, securing his spot by winning the LCQ.
The opening 450 race looked to be a straightforward affair, with Justin Cooper leading for all but the final minute. Ken Roczen applied pressure early, staying close and waiting for a mistake, but Cooper remained solid at the front. With less than a minute to go, Roczen made his move, executing a textbook pass to take the lead and secure the win. Chase Sexton finished a distant 10 seconds behind Cooper in third, while pole winner Justin Hill and Justin Barcia rounded out the top five. Meanwhile, championship leader Cooper Webb struggled to a sixth-place finish.

Cooper grabbed his second holeshot of the night as Moto 2 got underway and rode solidly, holding the lead for the first six laps. Sexton sat in second until Webb entered the mix. As Sexton and Cooper battled, they came together, with Sexton clipping Cooper’s rear wheel and crashing, the contact caused by a Sexton mistake in the previous corner that saw Cooper repass him. Soon after, Webb made his move, taking the lead from Cooper.
From there, Webb maintained a steady pace, eventually securing a 2-second victory over Sexton, who had quickly remounted after his crash and reclaimed second from Cooper. Cooper finished 10 seconds back in third, with Hill in fourth. Race one winner Roczen rounded out the top five in fifth.
Aaron Plessinger grabbed the holeshot in Moto 3, but Roczen took control early, leading Shane McElrath, Anderson, and Malcolm Stewart. Meanwhile, key contenders Sexton, Webb, and Cooper battled just inside the top ten.

Anderson wasted no time getting around McElrath to move into second, while by lap three, Sexton had charged up to third with Webb right behind him. By lap six, Sexton made his move on Anderson to take second, setting his sights on Roczen for the lead. Webb also moved into third, bringing the top overall contenders within 2.5 seconds of each other.
On lap nine, Sexton took over the lead, while Roczen and Webb battled for second, with Webb then gaining the upper hand due to Sexton stalling his bike. However, in what has become a frustrating trend this season, another costly mistake while in a round winning postiiton proved disastrous for Sexton.
Despite having the overall win secured, Sexton pushed hard on the final lap to challenge Webb, as Roczen and Anderson fought for third. But just as he closed in, Webb cut out of a corner early, catching Sexton off guard. The miscalculation sent Sexton to the ground, costing him the overall victory.
Anderson finished second, with Roczen in third. Barcia crossed the line ten seconds back in fourth, while Sexton, left ruing another missed opportunity, finished fifth.
Cooper Webb secured the overall win by just one point with a 6-1-1 score. Roczen (1-5-3) took second, while Sexton (3-2-5) rounded out the podium in third.
“It was a great battle. Chase and I were coming through the pack, and we were going for it,” Webb said of the action packed final moto. “We got around Kenny and then the battle was on. He made that mistake and stalled it [and gave up the lead], and I actually ended up stalling myself. It was a duel until the end. I felt a little something [nudge me] at the end, and then I heard the crowd, and I was just in disbelief like everyone else. I can’t believe it. It’s a lot of luck there. Maybe I’m [Cowboy’s Owner] Jerry’s grandson I didn’t know about.”

Ken Roczen admitted he was just a step off the pace at Arlington but still walked away with a solid second-place finish but remains focused on consistent podium finishes and refining his speed as the season progresses.
“What a battle! First off, plain and simple, I’m not fast enough,” Roczen said. “I need to find a couple of tenths [of a second]. I messed up the [Race 2] start, which really hurt me for the overall. Towards the end [of Race 3] I was leading, Chase was a little bit faster, Cooper was a little bit faster… There was just a lot of madness going on, but in the end, it’s still fun to be in the battle. With these three [Triple Crown] races, a lot of things can happen and I’ll take a second place. I’m losing a few points but at the same time we’ve been on the podium so much. I’m just going to keep doing the same thing as I have been. I’ll go back home, work on a bit of speed… and I’m just going to keep chipping away and see where it takes me.”
Chase Sexton’s night in Arlington ended in frustration after costly mistakes cost him the overall win and the former champion knows he has work to do and is determined to come back stronger at Daytona.
“There’s not much to say. It’s pretty embarrassing: stalling it, going down, losing the overall. It’s just not going to cut it. We’ve got a lot of work to do, go work on the bike and myself, and come back for Daytona,” a dejected Sexton said.
In the championship standings, Webb now takes a clear 5 point advantage over Sexton at the top of the table while Roczen is third – 19 points off the number one spot.

250SX West
In an impressive display of speed, Kiwi Cole Davies was on fire once again in the second 250SX qualifying session. Davies set the time to beat with a 48.326-second lap, 0.7 seconds faster than his Star Racing Yamaha teammate Haiden Deegan, who finished second with a 49.029. Davies was the only rider in the 250 class to break into the 48-second range.
Points leader Julien Beaumer rounded out the top three, clocking a 49.088, just 0.06 seconds behind Deegan. The session was competitive, with the top riders pushing hard to secure a solid gate pick for the main events.
Jo Shimoda grabbed the holeshot as Race 1 got underway, but a small crash saw that his lead gone. Jordon Smith soon took the lead but made a small bobble allowing Schock into the lead. Smith quickly regained his momentum and was soon back in front. Meanwhile, Deegan, who had also experienced a rough start after a small crash left him in seventh, steadily worked his way through the field.
By the midway point, Deegan had clawed his way into the top two, with Smith still in his sights. Michael Mosiman held third, while fastest qualifier Davies fought his way through the pack from sixth.
With just two laps remaining, Deegan found an easier route to the lead when Smith went down again, this time in the whoops. Schock, who had stayed in the top three all race, moved into second, while Mosiman rounded out the top three. Jo Shimoda and Beaumer finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Unfortunately, Smith was later taken to the hospital with suspected rib damage, ending his night early.
Race two saw Deegan at his best, claiming a thrilling win after charging through the field from a lowly 12th-place start. His impressive surge had the crowd on their feet as he moved to the front. Mosiman, who had led 90% of the race after grabbing the holeshot, finished a solid second, just 2.5 seconds behind Deegan. Garrett Marchbanks improved on his previous result, securing a top-three finish after running in second for much of the race. Schock finished fourth, while Shimoda rounded out the top five, one position lower than in the opening moto. Unfortunately, Davies had a tough race, being taken out in the first corner and finishing a disappointing 17th. Championship leader Beaumer’s night continued on an average note, finishing 8th.

In race three, Cole Davies made amends for his bad luck, taking the early lead from Schock and Beaumer, who finally had a decent start. Deegan, meanwhile, started in fourth but wasn’t there for long. As the laps wore on, Deegan steadily worked his way forward and, with a few minutes remaining, was up to second. However, Davies had already built a commanding lead and went on to claim redemption with a 4.5-second win. Deegan’s second place was enough to secure him the overall victory for the night, his second of the season. Jo Shimoda had his best finish in third, while Beaumer also had his best race finish in fourth.Marchbanks rounded out the top five.

Deegan got the job done in the overall, securing the win and taking over the championship points lead. Coty Schock finished second overall for his best result of the season with a 2-4-6 score. Michael Mosiman tied on points with Schock but was classified third due to his lower finish in the final moto (3-2-7). Meanwhile, former championship leader Julien Beaumer had a disappointing night, finishing sixth overall and surrendering the red plate to Deegan.
“I’m just going to keep working, keep getting better, it’s all I can work on,” Deegan said.
Coty Schock’s breakout performance in Arlington was a testament to the hard work and determination of both himself and his small but dedicated team. Despite not having the resources of the factory squads, Schock delivered a career-best result, securing a podium finish and proving he belongs at the front of the pack.
“We’re broadcast as a big team, but we do a lot with a little.,” Schock said. “It’s a little shop based out of South Carolina. We put in the work and it’s cool to finally put it up on the box for these guys. Thanks to the whole team… I’m not going to say I was a nobody growing up, but I wasn’t that guy and I am now. It’s surreal and yeah, we did it.”

Michael Mosiman’s return to the podium was more than just a result—it was a moment of redemption, a testament to the perseverance and belief that carried him through the lows to finally celebrate at the top again.
“Man, there’s a sense of relief. There’s been so much work put in and so many people who have believed in me, even at times when I didn’t myself,” Mosiman said. “To get back to this place, to get back on the podium, and to learn how to spray champagne again is hard to put into words. I’ve been to some pretty low places and now to be here it’s great, and it’s just the beginning.”
In the championship, Deegan now holds a six point lead over Beaumer while Cole Davies is third now thirteen points off the lead and left ruing the crash in the second moto and resulting 17th the certainly cost the Kiwi big time.
Round 8 now moves to the outdoor and always exciting Daytona next weekend.
