Colour and culture of motorcycles brings Sydney CBD to life

Posted:

A 25% increase in visitors and many reports of record show sales from exhibitors have highlighted an immensely successful return to Darling Harbour for the Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show.

Close to 26,000 visitors made their way to Sydney's CBD last Friday through Sunday, experiencing all the colour and culture of the two wheel world through the impressive displays of over 130 exhibitors.

The 15,000sqm show floor bristled with activity and excitement, reflecting a renewed consumer confidence in the recovering motorcycle, scooter and ATV markets.

No expense was spared by motorcycle manufacturers, who again delivered exhibits of incredible quality to showcase the vast range of new bikes on offer.

The same enthusiasm was reflected in the displays of product and service providers who went the extra mile to satisfy the thousands of happy customers.

Rain may have slowed Action Arena displays on opening day but didn't deter crowds of up to 100,000 across the weekend who were stopped in their tracks to watch demo's from the Monster Energy Kawasaki Showtime FMX riders, Stuntz Inc's Matt Mingay and Triumph's Lukey Luke.

Indoors, Jack Field and his Flair Entertainment Team performed an incredible 23 trials shows for awestruck crowds.

A host of new bike launches, presentations, special guests and giveaways rounded out the 2011 Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show.

"The quality of the show continues to rise and the exhibitors did an amazing job building exciting and entertaining stands," said Event Manager Mark Petersen.

"The response has been overwhelmingly positive, from industry and the attending public.

"The Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show sets the standard and tone for the new year, and we're confident that this success will be reflected at the upcoming Gold Coast event in February 2012."

The Australian Motorcycle Expo Gold Coast will be held on 17-19 February, 2012.
