Cody Cooper has raced to his third straight round win in the 2014 New Zealand Motocross Championships with another dominating display at Pukekoh on the weekend.

Cooper abord his Honda CRF450R got the day off to a flying start, qualifying fastest by over one second from KTM Australia's Ford Dale. Cooper then kept true to form, nailing the holeshot in the opening two moto's of the day, going on to win both races by a comfortable margin as his closest competitors crashed out behind him.

The reigning MX1 champion was denied a perfect score card for the day, when KTM Australia's Kirk Gibbs held him off in the dying stages of the third moto.

"one, one, Two for the overall round win, I am real happy with my performance," a delighted Cooper commented." I struggled with my passing with it [The Track] being one lined.

"I Felt like I really used my knowledge with being smart today," he added.

Finishing second for the round was Brad Groombridge who continues to impress with his consistent race results. JCR Yamaha's Billy Mackenzie rounded out the podium.

Coopers round three win further increased his championship lead and he will head into the final round with a commanding 37 point lead over Mackenzie with Groombridge holding down thrid place a futher 12 points adrift.

In the MX2 class, Red Bull Husqvarna's Kayne Lamont continued his great run of form, winning all three moto's and in the process increased his championship lead to 38 points over Hamish Dobbyn, who finished on the second step of the podium at Pukekoh.

John Phillips rounded out the round podium, finishing ahead of JCR Yamaha's Jay Wilson. Wilson continues to hold down third place in the championship standings.
