Clear Goals For Husqvarna Racers At The Island

The waters have been tested, the opposition measured, and now Husqvarna‰Ûªs factory and support racers face this weekend's third and fourth rounds of the Australian Supercross championships with a clearer picture of the size of the task ahead, and clearer goals.

Adding to the excitement, this weekend's second step on the Supercross championship journey takes place alongside Australia's biggest motorcycle racing event of the year, the Phillip Island Moto GP round.

In his very first Pro Open outing, Josh Cachia provided clear proof of both his own talent and the virtues of his smaller FC 350 in Supercross competition, and now the determined South Australian has his eyes set on improving his ninth position in the premier class championship standings.

‰ÛÏThe first round was definitely about testing the waters and getting through it, but this one I'm looking more at starting up the front, being upfront, and having the five-lap speed to stay there." Cachia said.

"I'm pretty confident in supercross and I hope I can race up at the top. I have before and it's just a matter of putting it all together and making it happen. Being at the GP is great, last year I didn't even know I was standing beside one of the factory Ducati riders until 10 people came up and started taking photos of us.‰Û

‰ÛÏI haven‰Ûªt ridden all week so the back has freed up a bit." Arbon admitted. "Still a little sore but the rest of the body is all good to go.

"We repaired the bike during the week, so we're ready to have another crack. The GP track ends up really dry because we race on it during the day and it bakes so it'll be a little more difficult on a two-stroke, but I'm sure we can get it done.

"It's definitely a cool atmosphere, there‰Ûªs a lot of people walking around and checking out the races and it's cool to go and watch the GP bikes as well so it's definitely a fun weekend.‰Û
