Chiara Fontanesi wins Italian GP race 1, Meghan Rutledge comes in second

Posted:

Chiara Fontanesi has taken the win at round three of the FIM Women‰Ûªs Motocross World Championship with the Italian showed her fellow countrymen why she is motocross‰Ûªs leading lady on home soil at Maggiora.

After dominating the qualifying race the Italian superwoman Fontanesi did it again, taking the holeshot in race one and checking out to hold on to her unbeaten status in 2013.

Meanwhile behind her Rabbit Racing Kawasaki‰Ûªs Stephanie Laier was doing her best to hold on for second but couldn‰Ûªt hold off the wrath of Bud Racing Kawasaki‰Ûªs Meghan Rutledge. While the Australian Rutledge was quick around Laier, she couldn‰Ûªt match the pace of Italian out front.

After a few mistakes in the opening laps of the race HM Plant KTM UK‰Ûªs Natalie Kane began to get it together putting in a strong charge to pass Laier and catch the second placed Rutledge. Unfortunately Kane couldn‰Ûªt seem to hold that pace, giving up the fight and settling for third.
