DPH Motorsport Honda Racing had their debut hit out at the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals opener at Conondale QLD on April 1. Cheyne Boyd
managed a top 10 finish in 8th Place after qualifying 3rd behind Kirk Gibbs and Ford Dale.
It was the DPH teams first hit out on the national circuit and after a promising preseason the both Cheyne and the team were looking for better results at round one of the Monster Energy MX Nationals.
"Overall I am not happy with the end result and know that we have Moto win's to come.", Said Boyd, "Everything has been going so well in the lead up to round 1 and I'm really disappointed with the end result".
"All 3 Moto's I didn't get great starts and would Get caught up with other riders mid pack, in Moto 2 crashing with another rider in the first turn and spinning out around lap 6 in Moto 3, I found it hard to bridge the gap to the leaders when getting such bad starts and on a track that fast and dusty."
With a two week break before round two of the series gets underway, Boyd and his DPH team will work on a few things and look to come back stronger at the Coonabarabran track in Country New South Wales.
"There are some things we need to work on before round 2 with the bike and also I need to work on with my riding. The team has worked so hard the last month and would love to reward them with Moto wins and I know I can do that." the Victorian stated.
"There were some good points over the weekend, I think we have a good program going with DPH Motorsport Honda Racing and now will work
even harder to rebound from such a bad weekend, we know what we need to do and what we need to work on to get the result we know we can get. We would like to thank everyone for their support already and look forward to round 2" Boyd Concluded.
DPH development rider Boyd Hocking finished 24th overall with the team continuing to focus on his development as a young up and coming rider.
