The 13 to 16yrs 250F class is strongly contended with over 85 riders all trying to qualify for a spot on the 40 man grid. Strong contenders for the title are Full Throttle/Scrivens Honda's Kade Mosig, Motorex KTM's Louis Calvin, Chad Reed Racing's Luke George, Whales Kawasaki's Nicholas Geck, Taylor Potter, Shaun Williamson. Mosig ended the day fastest qualifier. Motorex KTM's Tye Simmonds got around top 4 in the first two heats of this class and in the last one was running 4th when he tried to put a pass on QLD's Sam Lifekett and went down finishing last and were not sure whether he will qualify for the top 40. Also watch for the Kiwi Contenders that have crossed into Australian Waters as they were fast and consistent and are title contenders. The 15yrs 125 heats were battled out between around 10 riders... those being Louis Calvin, Luke George, Nicholas Geck, Taylor Potter, Joel Passlow, Kade Mosig, Shaun Williamson, Lawson Bopping and a few others... any off these riders has the ability to take the title on Saturday and Sunday. Calvin has the early advantage coming out fastest in qualifying. The 13-14 yrs 125 heats were also strongly contested with the lead swapping several times through out the races... Tye Simmonds was the stand out in this class closely followed Todd Waters, Ross Beaton and Harley Quinlan. Sam Southey Joel Rizzo and Matt Robinson also showed speed and this should be a class to watch come the finals.

Tye Simmonds was the stand out again in the 85cc 12-13. Josh Cashia. Kerrodd Morrissy, Sam Southey, Harlley Quinlan, Kieran Hall and Dylan Peterson were quick and in some instances on the tail off Simmonds. Locals Thomas Rushton and Jackson Jones showed pace easily qualifying for there finals and should be ones to watch come the finals on Saturday and Sunday. Jacob Blomfield showed speed holeshoting and leading his heats leaving the other riders behind. Dylan Berwick, Kurt Wrightman and Jacob Wright were also fast and is going to make for a good final. Rhys Dorreen showed how well he knows the Coolum track by coming from behind to win his opening heat. Wade Hunter wasn't far behind also Geran Stapleton and Jake Wright were fast. The younger 65cc class was strongly contested by Queensland's Jesse Dobson who holeshot the first race and lead for most of the race until he crashed. He worked his was back to second place. Zak Brown also showed pace in this class and the title could possibly go to around 6 riders in this class. The amount in of entries and the amount of Skill at the Australian Titles this year is amazing. Tye Simmonds came 3rd at one of the biggest Junior Events in America this year and already at in the heats at the Australian titles at Coolum people have passed, battled with and beaten Tye.
