Chase Sexton celebrated earlier this year after winning the 2023 450SX Monster Energy Supercross Championship.

Chase Sexton, the defending 450SX Monster Energy Supercross champion, has taken to social media to reveal his departure from HRC Honda, marking the end of a highly successful chapter that saw him clinch three Supercross titles with the team.

Speculations surrounding Sexton’s potential move to KTM had been circulating for some time, gaining momentum, particularly following the departure of long-time KTM rider Cooper Webb.

Amid these rumours, there has been talk of 250 champion Hunter Lawrence stepping up to the 450 class as a possible replacement for Sexton. Such a move would unite the Lawrence brothers, with Hunter joining his younger sibling, Jett, creating an all-Australian 450 HRC Honda lineup and seeing the Queenslanders go head to head in the same class.

Reflecting on his time with the Honda family, the 24-year-old Sexton expressed, “Man, it’s been one heck of a ride with the Honda family! Lots of ups and downs, two 250 SX titles, one 450 SX title, and tons of memories that will last a lifetime. Riding for Honda HRC has always a dream for me, and to make that a reality is really something special. Thank you to each and every one of those team members that made my 4-year run there so special.”

HRC Honda also released a short video thanking him and detailing his achievements with the brand. An official announcement from both KTM and Honda is expected shortly.
