A trip to Singapore has turned into a perfect result for the young 2005 Victorian Supermoto Champion, Chas Hern from Whittlesea, Victoria. With the chance to ride a Husqvarna SMR510 for a local dealer, Hern made a fist of the opportunity to walk away with pole position, and two race wins at the street Supermoto meeting in front of more than 15 000 spectators. The event included pocket bike classes and moped racing with Supermoto as the main event around the tight car park circuit. Hern's team mate finished a close second on a 450 making for a perfect 1 ‰ÛÒ 2 result to cap the weekend off. Hern, who was filling in for regular rider Cameron Donald was ecstatic after the win saying, "I just wanted the racing to start so I could do what I know, so when we go going in practice I just let it all hang out , power sliding when I could and backing it in like we do in Oz. When I got back into the pits the mechanics thought I was crazy, and asked me not to do too much sliding." "It's funny now that I think of it, they would of thought who is this nut riding our bike. Cam (Donald) usually rides their bike road race style, clean lines and all that, there eyes would have just about popped out their heads when they saw me do my 1st lap," said Hern. "The media were especially rapped and it was really cool to receive so much attention, it's definitely the biggest crowd I have ever raced in front of, they were going mad and so excited about the whole thing, I hope to get another chance like this soon." Hern jets back to Australia on Wednesday to ride in what has become one of Australia's biggest end of year races, Queensland's King of the Mountain Dirt track race on 26 Nov.
