Changes Afoot for Glenn MacDonald as he Pours More Focus into MACA

Glenn MacDonald's MACA (Motocross Advanced Coaching Academy) and GMR (Glenn MacDonald Racing) will both undergo changes heading into 2014.

The primary reason for change to both of his motocross companies comes off the back of his role as the official manager of the KTM Junior Racing program coming to an end at the conclusion of the 2013 Australian Junior Motocross Championships held at the beginning of October in Horsham Victoria.

"KTM has been making changes internally to meet their in-house strategy with teams and product which is a great for them, so the shift away from GMR was on the cards." Macdonald told Fullnoise.com.au in an interview earlier this week that can be viewed by CLICKING HERE. "We had hoped we would still be involved with KTM‰Ûªs racing program in a different role so that aspect is a little disappointing.

"There will be some big changes for us, we won‰Ûªt be Team Manager of the Motorex KTM Junior and Women‰Ûªs racing team and finished up on the last day of the Junior nationals at Horsham,"

"We were committed personally to assist Kristy Gillespie at her Women‰Ûªs Nationals, however that event was cancelled, so we are all done!

MacDonald who has a rich history in Australian Motorcycling racing himself, has been one of the the leading Australian junior coaches for close to a decade, not only leading the KTM Junior and Women's Motocross efforts but also helping to guide some of Australia's best talents to both Australian and World titles along the way, via his coaching academy.

There had been some concerns from general public that both MACA and GMR were closing their doors, but that could not be further from the truth, with MacDonald looking to invest more time into his MACA schools going forward and also looking at a few different options for GMR heading into 2014.

"At this stage, GMR has not been disbanded, this is a company that I remain the Director of and we have some really exciting ideas in the pipe line as to what GMR could look like in the future. So at the moment its full steam ahead for MACA and looking at some options for GMR," the Victorian based coach added.

With no current commitments to the GMR race team, MacDonald will now pour more focus on this MACA Coaching and is in the process of looking at some new venues to take his coaching academies to and looks to work with some new riders along the way.

"MACA Coaching will be as strong as ever, if not more so in coming seasons. Stepping away from the junior team gives us a chance to put more focus on it, run a few more schools and get out to some new venues and work with even more riders, junior and senior." MacDonald concluded.
