Chad Reed has confirmed that he will go in for Shoulder Surgery in the next 24 hours after a day of mixed reports and rumours regarding his and his teams future.

American Moto website Transworld Motocross reported on the 18th of June in the U.S, that Reed's TwoTwo Motorsports had closed its doors effective immediately and that the Australian would likely line up aboard a Yamaha in the near future.

Reed has neither confirmed or denied if there was any truth to the article but posted the following two tweets on Twitter today.

"Amazing that people have answers to things I don't at this time. Stay classy Moto industry!" Then followed shortly after with "Oh and to the team that called? discount tire has my back!! No need to call and ask for my title sponsorship."

After posting an image of an MRI Scanner later during the day, Reed confirmed that he will undergo surgery on the shoulder he injured in a crash during the Supercross championship at the Santa Clara round.

At this point in time there is no time line for when Reed will return to racing, or if he will miss any races at all, with the Aussie favourite certain he will be ready to race later this year at the AUS-X Open in Sydney.

"Getting surgery on my shoulder (for those asking). It's the one I hurt in Santa Clara and why I missed NJ.. Quick turn around I'm told," Reed tweeted just over three hours ago, before responding with, "Of course!! Gotta be awesome to get back on a gate with stew Looking forward to it," when asked by a fan if he would be ready in time for the big Supercross racing being held on the 28th and 29th of November.

At this point in time there is still no official response from either Chad Reed or TwoTwo Motorsports regarding any current or future changes to the race team.
