Reigning Australian Pro Lites Motocross champion Cameron Taylor will fill in for Subway Yamaha's Adam Altham at the Ssangyong International Supermoto at Sydney Olympic Park on the 19th of November after Altham broke his collar-bone in a practice accident 4 weeks ago.

Yamaha Australia approached the Subway Team with the idea early last week and after all parties agreed to the idea a plan of attack was organised. Taylor hit the track yesterday at Bairnsdale for his first ever stint and immediately showed he was serious about learning the discipline. With Altham coaching from the sideline Taylor quickly dropped his lap times and developed a smooth fast style. "It's pretty different", Taylor said. "It's great fun but I just have to get used to the limits of the bike and myself, I am pretty confident in the bike as it's real weapon. I will do a couple more practice sessions and get out there on the dirt with slicks before the event so I am pretty confident we will be competitive by the event", he added. Altham was impressed with Taylor's immediate speed. "He is a dream to work with, listens to advice well, asks questions and generally goes about the task very methodically. I think he will be up to speed fair quickly, his times today where outstanding for a first out attempt and he settled into a very nice smooth style quickly." Subway owner Paul Caridi was equally impressed, saying, "Its great to see him out there. It's pointless leaving the bike in the shed, so not only is it good for us to have the bike out there, it's also good for the sport to have another name rider interested. Unfortunately for Cam he is being initiated in probably the hardest event that has ever been run in Australia. There are just so many top riders entered. But as everyone knows he is one of Australia's most decorated riders himself so I think he will fit in well".

At the same practice session Team No Fear Honda's Rebecca Lippset pounded out laps all day aboard Troy Dorron's 2006 CRF250 in preparation for the same event. Rebecca, a former Australian Woman's Motocross champion started off a little rusty but was soon up to speed and her confidence, style and speed grew with each lap she completed. "It's going to be a great event and I am really looking forward to it", Rebecca said. "Motard is just so much fun and something different. My team boss Pip Harrison has worked hard on the bike and it is great to ride so the event is something I am really looking forward to" she concluded. Main Photo: Cameron Taylor in action
