Cachia hopes hometown advantage will give him the edge at Murray Bridge

Posted:

Carlton Dry Honda Racing's Josh Cachia will be looking to draw on hometown support when Round 2 of the Monster Energy MX Nationals hits Murray Bridge Motocross Track this weekend.

The 21 year-old, who currently sits second in the MX2 Championship, has spent the past couple of days in Melbourne testing with the team.

Whilst originally from Melbourne, Cachia now lives in South Australia's picturesque Carpenter Rocks, and said he hopes local knowledge and support will give him an advantage come race day.

"I am really looking forward to this weekend," Cachia said. "This is my hometown event and I am going to have a lot of people there supporting me.

"The past few days I have been in Melbourne testing with the team. We made a few changes based on what we learnt at the opening round and definitely made more progress.

"My starts at Raymond Terrace were phenomenal, so I want to try and replicate them and get out in front from the start,‰Û

Carlton Dry Honda Racing‰Ûªs MX1 pilots Ford Dale and Daniel McCoy have also been hard at work in the two-week break. Both riders will be striving for better results this weekend, after a trying opening round.

Having spent the past week in Melbourne testing with Technical Advisor Pip Harrison and Mechanic Lee Walker, Dale said he felt confident ahead of this weekends event.

"I have spent the past week testing in Melbourne with the team which has been really valuable," Dale said.

"We made some really good improvements and I am feeling a lot more comfortable on the bike.

‰ÛÏMurray Bridge is a great track, it is fast and suits my style of riding. I was on the podium there last year so I will be looking for a good result this weekend,‰Û
