Brett Metcalfe Returns to SA Titles and Clean Sweeps MX1 and Vets Classes

Metcalfe on his way to the 2020 SA Motocross MX1 Pro championship
With national racing on hold due to the Covid situation, Penrite Honda's Brett Metcalfe returned to state level racing full time in 2020, delighting his home town state fans, and also giving the younger generation of South Australian racers a great way to mark themselves against a world class competitor.

Metcalfe was unstoppable across all three championship rounds, and while the likes of Mitch Norris were able to steal the majority of holeshots and even lead Metcalfe for the occasional lap early in the race, the veteran rider always had the answer racing away to a clean sweep of 18 moto wins across both the MX1 Pro class and the Veterans A class.

‰ÛÏIts been almost 20 years since I last competed in our state championship and to win 18 races from 18 starts and two championships this year in front of my kids is priceless, to share it with them has been really special." Metcalfe enthused.

"The last time I raced the championship I was just a kid so it‰Ûªs really come full circle as my kids also raced the championship. Overall, it has been an amazing time for my family and I."
While Metcalfe has raced the occasional single round of the South Australian State Titles in recent year, 2020 marked his first full season at state level since 2000!
Whilst 2020 has been a strange year, Metcalfe has used this time to fully recover from years of injuries.

‰ÛÏI must admit this is the best I have felt in years. Most years, riders‰Ûª race with injuries and sometimes it hinders their results. I have used this year to fully recover from all of my injuries and I feel strong and fit‰Û
The customer graphics on Metcalfes Honda CRF 450R to support the Children‰Ûªs Hospital received rave reviews.
Metcalfe‰Ûªs presence has been well received and the graphics he raced with over the weekend to support the Children‰Ûªs Hospital received rave reviews.

Team owner, Yarrive Konsky appreciates everyone‰Ûªs efforts and thanks the kids who took the time to draw the designs and Sam from SK Designs for donating his time and product.

‰ÛÏThis is something we will try and do every year, it was great to engage with our young fans‰Û
