Brett Metcalfe and the team at Penrite Honda accept they need to find a solid race set up ahead of Round 3 of the MX Nationals held in Wonthaggi, Victoria.
Metcalfe once again showed plenty of speed early in the day, taking the win in Superpole before taking it to Dean Ferris in the first half of the opening moto.
A last turn pass relegated the former AMA front runner to third, with Metcalfe finishing 5th in the day's second moto to round out the day 5th overall.
