In the SX2 class it was DPH Motosports Hayden Mellross who adjusted the best to the slick conditions on a freshly watered track, posting a fastest lap time of 54.350 seconds to qualifying nearly a full second faster than Serco Yamaha's Wade Hunter.
HGA Honda Racing's Jimmy Decotis showed why he is the current champion posting the 3rd fastest lap time ahead of Serco Yamaha's Jackson Richardson in 4th and current points leader Gavin Faith aboard his Penrite Oils Honda in 5th.
Nathan Crawford despite only riding for four days after coming back from injury posted the sixth fastest time, while CFR Honda Racing's Joel Wightman impressed in 7th finishing just ahead of team-mate, Kyle Webster.
Raceline KTM's Dylan Wills finished 9th, while Serco Yamaha made it three riders inside the top ten with Wilson Todd posting the tenth fastest time on his return from injury.
With Qualifying over, riders will hit the track from 6.30pm for racing at the Toowoomba showgrounds including two junior classes alongside the SX1 and SX2 classes.
