The first BMW Motorrad RR Experience Track Day and Test Rides got off to a sensational start at Queensland Raceway recently with VIP's Chris Vermeulen and Glenn Allerton in the mix. In the perfect conditions riders on a mix of bikes enjoyed the freedom only a race track can give. For many the day was the opportunity to get behind the 'bars of the awesome S 1000 RR.
The long fast straights and tight corners really highlighted the RR's acceleration, braking and handling performance. The Quick-shift gear change and other technical innovations on the RR stunned the first time riders of BMW's award winning sports bike.
BMW Motorrad RR Experience Track Days are for registered road bikes (no track bikes or slicks) and are ideal for riders having their first track day. All sessions have a lead and sweep riders for the first two laps to give riders an insight as to correct lines. These experienced marshals stay on track to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
Chris Vermeulen, former MotoGP winner was involved with the test rides, leading groups of riders showing them the good lines. Chris also spoke to many riders in the pits between sessions, he clearly loves riding bikes, especially the HP4.
Glenn Allerton and the Next Gen BMW Team was also on hand with off track Tech Talk sessions giving riders the unique experience of seeing how Australia's leading BMW superbike rider prepares for racing and passing on his vast experience that has relevance for both track and road riding.
Glenn Allerton will be at all BMW Motorrad RR Experience Days, while Chris Vermeulen has confirmed he will also be at NT and Victorian events.

Miles Davis was on hand at Queensland Raceway for the inaugural RR Experience.
"To be able to give riders the unique opportunity to ride the BMW S 1000 RR on the race track was exciting to see." Davis explained. "Many riders were clearly affected by the performance of the bike and everyone had a smile on their face throughout the day.
"The Queensland event was a sensational success and the up coming RR Experience Days in NT, Vic and NSW will follow the same way. Places are strictly limited so I advise interested riders to book their ride immediately" said Miles.
