The 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship got off to a thrilling start at Gliwice’s PreZero Arena in Poland, with defending champion Billy Bolt asserting his dominance and Jonny Walker showing the pace and consistency that could make him a serious contender this season.
Across three finals, the opening round delivered high drama, spectacular racing, and standout performances from riders further down the order, including Eddie Karlsson and Mitch Brightmore, who claimed third and fourth overall.
Bolt wasted no time reminding the field why he is the reigning champion, setting the fastest lap in SuperPole to claim priority gate pick for race one.
From the holeshot, the Brit controlled the pace with precision, steadily building a four-second margin and lapping several competitors along the way. Even a reverse-grid start in race two couldn’t slow him down; he fought his way through the pack into a tight three-way battle for the lead, overcoming a small mistake to finish second.

Returning to the front row for the final race, Bolt executed another perfect start, opening a commanding lead and taking victory by over five seconds. Reflecting on the night, he said, “Round one here in Poland is done and it’s been a really solid start to the season. The track was challenging and the dirt made it tricky to push at times, but overall things came together well. I managed the races smartly and felt strong across the night. I had a big moment in race two, but I was able to recover and limit the damage, which was important. To come away with the overall win is something I’m very happy with.”
Walker, meanwhile, showed resilience and speed to secure second overall. After topping practice times, a small error in SuperPole dropped him to seventh, and a crash in the last corner of race one relegated him to fifth. He bounced back in race two, charging from a second-row start through the pack to claim his first victory of the season, then followed up with a composed second in race three.
Walker said he was encouraged by his performance: “It wasn’t perfect, but we showed strong pace with a race win and a solid second in the final race. I was closing in on Billy towards the end, which was encouraging. The first race didn’t go to plan, but to leave here second in the championship is still a good start. There’s definitely room for improvement, and I’m confident we can be even stronger heading into Germany.”

While Bolt and Walker dominated headlines, the battle for third and fourth showcased the depth of talent on display. Eddie Karlsson rode a consistent night for Stark, taking third overall thanks to solid finishes in each race, including a podium in the final heat, while Mitch Brightmore impressed with smart, controlled riding to finish fourth overall. His brother, Ashton Brightmore, along with Diogo Vieira, Dominik Olszowy, and Manuel Lettenbichler, also put in strong performances, demonstrating that the series has a wide pool of riders ready to challenge at the sharp end.
With his 1-2-1 results, Bolt not only claimed the overall victory but also extended his unbeaten streak in season-opening rounds dating back to 2023, leaving him with a 12-point lead at the top of the standings.
Walker, Karlsson, and Brightmore will be looking to close the gap as the championship moves to its second round in Riesa, Germany, on January 3.
