Bilko’s outback adventures continue

Posted:

It has been another eventful couple of weeks on the Crusty Demons Outback Assault Tour with shows in Whyalla, SA, and Mildura, VIC, and Honda's freestyle man Blake 'Bilko' Williams has been along for the ride from day one. "Since I last checked in, we have done the Whyalla show three and half hours from Adelaide," Bilko explained. "The event was building up to be pretty big with ticket sales over 9,000, and everything was looking good during practice. Unfortunately the heavens opened up mid afternoon and the rain came pouring down. It just wouldn't stop so they eventually postponed the show till the following morning." On what its like to perform with the best FMX guys in the world, Bilko explained the challenges. "The scariest part of the program for me is flipping the CRF50. I was real busy before the tour started and didn't get a chance to flip with the same set up that I use in the show. So the first time I performed it over 30 feet off of a full size freestyle ramp was on the tour in Darwin. I've only done it during the shows since then but I've landed them all smoothly so I'm stoked. I pulled off a couple of heel clicker flips as well and the crowd was pumped." After Whyalla, Bilko headed home for two days where, in addition to attending trade school, the young gun put in some much needed work on the concrete run ups on his private freestyle circuit. It was then off to Mildura for the next tour stop for an 8,000 strong crowd. "The weather was perfect and the show went like clock work," Bilko said. "The Mildura crowd were awesome and again I was riding well, busting out some big normal tricks as well as flip combos too. We had an autograph signing after the show and ended up signing for about two hours." "After the weekend, we hit the road again and I was home sweet home where I did some maintenance on my Hondas before a Freerider film shoot on Wednesday." "This weekend we're off to Albury for another in-store signing, the Crusty show Saturday and then on with the rest of the tour. Soon I'll be getting my new bike too. I can not wait to jump on to the 2006 twin pipe CRF250R. From what I have heard it is a weapon!"
