KTM‰Ûªs Tayla Jones has landed one of the most exciting wins of her racing career with victory in the finale of America‰Ûªs premier off-road racing series the GNCC, at Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The super-fast teenager from Yass, NSW powered her KTM250SX-F to victory in the Women‰Ûªs XC class at the 13th and final round by over 20 seconds from another KTM rider, Rachel Gutish, and Jessica Patterson.
Added to class wins at Finke and Hattah this year, victory in only her second ever GNCC is the latest achievement in a spectacular year for Jones, and a perfect confidence-booster going into next month's International Six Days Enduro in Argentina.
‰ÛÏThe GNCCs are awesome fun and I can't wait to do more." Jones commented. "They had the right amount of rain here in Indiana to make the dirt really good so ninety percent of the track today was perfect.
"We had to go through a creek a fair few times which made things muddy. The hardest part was trying to overtake the lapped riders. In the race there was over 800 people and we started lapping at the start of the second lap so it got pretty hectic.
"Every time you got to a mud hole or hill there was like 20 to 30 people in a massive bottle neck trying to get through so that was the hardest part.
"Winning today capped off my USA trip on a high which has given me confidence going into the six-day. I've had a great year and hopefully I can finish it on a high in Argentina.‰Û
