American Moto Legends Return To The Track At Ironman National

Posted:

As the days continue to count down to the season-ending Bud Light Ironman National, Round 12 of the 2015 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, so does the anticipation for the inaugural Legends Race.

Serving as the precursor to the second annual National held at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, this Saturday, August 22, the Legends Race will feature a 12-rider lineup of racing veterans and former champions.

This one-of-a-kind event will kick off the pro action at Ironman Raceway on Saturday afternoon, with the opening ceremonies scheduled for 12 Noon ET. The newest venue in the world's most prestigious dirt-bike racing series will not only serve as the final battleground of the summer-long championship, where the captivating battle for the Gary Jones Cup in the 250 Class will come to a memorable conclusion, but also a rare opportunity for the sport's most successful names to showcase their talents years after they hung up their racing boots.

Headlining the field of riders for the Legends Race are four former Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Class Champions - Ricky Carmichael, Jeff Emig, Jeff Stanton and Guy Cooper. Additionally, beloved veterans and National winners Kevin Windham, Robbie Reynard and Tim Ferry will surely be in contention for victory, while Todd DeHoop, Jason Thomas, Tom Hofmaster, Junior Jackson and John Grewe round out the star-studded lineup.
