Alex Rins has qualified his Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda NSF250RW, on pole position for the Aragon round of the MotoGP championship.
The Spaniard took over from title-rival Jack Miller (KTM) with 15 minutes to go, after his mechanics had fixed an issue with his clutch. He ended the session 0.116 seconds ahead of Danny Kent (Husqvarna).
"I was very motivated after some good free practice sessions during which we had a good pace." Rins commented. "But of course what matters is the race tomorrow. We know we can do well but it won't be easy because with such a long main straight here I don't think that anyone will be able to escape and open a gap.
"I expect there will be many riders together from the beginning, but we will try to reduce the first group. At this track you can have races like you have at Mugello and Brno."
Australia's Jack Miller finished 4th at the end of the session aboard his Red Bull KTM Ajo machine, just over one tenth of a second behind Rins
