A Number Of Factory and Privateer SX Riders Sidelined After Injuries Sustained In Sydney
A number of riders have been sidelined from racing the remainder of the 2015 Australian Supercross championship after suffering injuries across the weekend of the 28th of 29th of November at the AUS-X Open

The most serious injuries were sustained by privateer Brody Cassidy who was placed into a precautionary induced coma after crashing heavily early in Sunday‰Ûªs program.

From reports Brody is in a stable condition but will have a long road to recovery ahead of him.

A gofundme account has been set up to help assist Brody with more information regrading his condition posted on the page - https://www.gofundme.com/BrodyCassidy
Another rider to be struck down this weekend was NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki team racer Adam Monea after he crashed heavily on Saturday evening sustaining multiple injuries including a fractured wrist and possible ligament damage in his other wrist and ankle.

‰ÛÏAdam was riding so well and the team was confident that we were in for a podium. ‰ÛÏ Team Manager Troy Carroll explained. ‰ÛÏThe crash happened during Qualifying. Adam over-jumped a section and to be honest we expected worse because it was a really big cash.

‰ÛÏAdam will be released from hospital today after the surgery on his wrist that he received yesterday and he will be having his other wrist and ankle checked out for suspected ligament damage in due course.‰Û

KTM Australia‰Ûªs Luke Styke was another rider who joined the injury list on Saturday.

The SX1 rookie got out of shape during the main event and came up short on a jump with just the very front of his boot on the footpeg, tearing his Achilles tendon.

‰ÛÏWe‰Ûªre seeing the specialist today and if we need to operate, I'll be pushing for it to happen either tomorrow night or Wednesday morning, but there are also some new treatments now where an operation may not be necessary and will discuss option A, B and C shortly.‰Û
Penrite Oils Honda MX rider Gavin Faith had one of the more unusual crashes of the weekend.

Jumping over the finish line double on Sunday afternoon at the conclusion of his heat race, all seemed fine for the American rider when all of a sudden things turned pair shaped and the 2014 SX2 champion hit the deck hard and was immediately attend to by racesafe.

It was a big change in fortune for the rider who the night prior had his best finish since moving up to the SX1 class finishing second to Chad Reed in the main event.

Faith posted the below update on his Facebook page.

‰ÛÏJust a little update on what's going on. I had a big crash at the supercross over the finish and ended up breaking my collarbone, 3 ribs, slightly punctured lung, a few cracked vertebrae, and a concussion. The vertebrae are not serious. Very lucky I wasn't hurt worse!‰Û

As we reported yesterday Luke Arbon was one of the first riders to have a mishap on the weekend, crashing in a rhythm section.

The Husqvarna FC 250 rider, who shared second place in the SX2 championship entering the round, had an awkward fall in a triple/tabletop combination section during qualifying on Saturday and dabbed a foot in at an awkward angle, causing the bone to break.

Also Both The Motul Suzuki racing team riders suffered injuries across the weekend with Championship contender Matt Moss crashing out early during Saturday nights main event, while Makeham re-aggravated the ankle he injured at round one of the series earlier this year during Sunday‰Ûªs practice session.

While both riders were unable to finish the weekends event, both are expected to line up this weekend for the series finale.

‰ÛÏBoth riders will have treatment during the week with the aim of lining up next weekend for the final round.‰Û
