A Fresh Superbike Title Challenge Begins For Team Honda

Posted:

Round 1 of the Australasian Superbike Championship will be held this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park and Team Honda Racing is poised for action.

In 2014 the Honda team dominated the Superbike category for much of the season culminating in a spectacular 1-2-3, 5 finish. It was one of the most successful seasons for Team Honda Racing to date and one not easily topped.

2015 sees Team Honda Racing fielding 2 of the best riders in the country, #27 Jamie Stauffer and #17 Troy Herfoss and both have their own motivation to take on the challenge for the title this season.

In an unfortunate turn of events for Stauffer however, his season has been placed on hold as he awaits clearance to race. The NSW rider has recovered well from his injury at the World Superbike event, but must clear a blood clot before he can take to the track again.

Hungry for the title, Stauffer will attend Round 1 this weekend to support the team and glean any and all information on the bike and indeed his opponents before re-joining the team for Round 2.

Taking Stauffer‰Ûªs place at Sydney Motorsport Park will be 2014 Supersport Champion, Aiden Wagner who could not be more excited.

‰ÛÏI am really looking forward to getting out on track tomorrow for practice on the CBR1000RR SP. It is definitely going to be a full on weekend for me in the Superbike category, but team has already been supportive and I just can‰Ûªt wait to see what we can achieve.‰Û
