2019 Sunny Corner Trail Bike Ride hits the mark again

Posted:

Sunny Corner lived up to its name as NSW‰Ûªs biggest trail ride rolled out on a glorious weekend of weather on 14/15 September 2019.

Close to 1300 riders registered for Central Tablelands MCC‰Ûªs popular trail ride near Portland, NSW and enjoyed a weekend of camping and riding three awesome arrowed loops between 40 and 60km long with optional hard and easy sections.

Main sponsor Yamaha Motor Australia once again supplied a wide range of demo bikes to test on a closed circuit and buggy racer Jake WIlliams took passengers for a white knuckle ride in a YXZ1000R sports SSV ‰ÛÒ both activities proving extremely popular.
The bonfire was put to the torch on Saturday night as riders congregated around the main stage to hear who won the main entry prize ‰ÛÒ a brand new 2019 WR450F fitted with GYTR parts. The YMF/YMI girls picked out Tom Dixon, an engineer from Nowra who was suitably stoked at claiming the top prize. ‰ÛÏFunny thing is I had surgery on my knee on Tuesday and wasn‰Ûªt going to come, so it was a real last minute decision ‰ÛÒ looks like I made the right call!‰Û
A bLU cRU truck of YMA technicians were on hand to assist demo bike setup as well as fix any issues that Yamaha riders experienced over the weekend, plus the team from Oates MX offered coaching advice to riders on the demo track.
YMA entertained 25 VIP guests from Yamaha distributors around the globe and head office in Japan who were eager to participate in an Australian trail bike rally and chat with local riders. They left impressed with the size and scale of the event as well as the seemingly endless supply of technical singletrack ‰ÛÒ as well as the fun had and passion shown by the Sunny Corner riders.
