2017 VMXdN Dream Team Returns To Australia
The Australian Veteran Motocross des Nation (VMXdN) Team of 2017, has returned to home shores in high spirits after a hard fought battles at the United Kingdom's iconic Farleigh Castle Motocross track last month. (September 15-17)

VMXdN is one of the largest 'Twin Shock', 'Evo' and 'Super' class events globally that boasts well over 600 entries from countries all over the world. The unique meeting is run against the stunning backdrop of the medieval Farleigh Hungerford Castle built in 1377, near Bath in Somerset, England.

The 2017 Australian VMXdN Team placed extremely well against international competition and consisted of past champions and stars; John Kittle, Russell Williamson, Kenneth Swan, Brad Van Barrelo, Geoff Ballard (AM), Craig Anderson, Glen Bell, James Deakin, and Kirk Hutton.

Team manager, Rosco Holden shared his experience of the event; "I can't thank the team enough for all their hard work and dedication this year. We had some wonderful results in all entered classes, such as; James Deakin's super human effort to get on the podium in 3rd overall in the over 50 Evo Individual category, Craig Anderson‰Ûªs 5th overall Individual Evo Team Des Nations and Brad Van Barrelo's 5th outright in over 50 Twin Shock Individual.

"There were many highlights for me personally, including witnessing Ando, James and Brad battle at the front of the international pack against some of the world's best, was just awesome!

"On an individual note, James Deakin was a standout performer, as a reserve rider, he managed to qualify 2nd in the Over 50 Evo, but under event rules as a reserve, he could not be bumped up to his time position of 2nd and instead had to start in position gate 56th! A full ten seconds after first gate of 40 had dropped, Deakin was able to start. He came through to bring it across the line in an outstanding 5th! Again in race two, he backed it up starting in 56th to a brilliant 3rd!

"Quiet simply, the entire time, there were so many smiles, high fives and thumbs up from the 'A Team', who were on a trip of a lifetime. At the conclusion of our event, all the boys went on to and support our Aussie's competing in the at Motocross of Nations (MXON) Lawrence, Gibbs, and Ferris at Matterly Basin, also in the UK.

"I want to make special mention to all our sponsors and wonderful support we had in the UK, with mechanics Jonathan Wood and Shane Aspinell, Tom and Alan Brown of Extreme Motorcycles for providing their workshop and wash bays. Niki Hesse and Adrian from Verde Motorsport, Nick and Mark Chamberlain for the use of their MVDS Husky Race transporters, and so many more.

"I couldn‰Ûªt have been prouder of the nine riders in 2017. They all rode their hearts out for themselves, families, supporters, and in tribute to my mum, 'Babsy'.
