Cody Copper has won the 2015 Troy Lee Designs MX1 New Zealand Summercross event held at the Awakaponga Motor-X Track, Whakatane on Monday the 28th of December.

Honda mounted Copper edged out Suzuki's Rhys Carter for the overall win by a narrow two points with Yamaha's Josh Coppins rounding out the podium a further 12 points adrift.

Cooper won the opening two moto's before Brad Groombridge who finished fourth overall for the round won the third. It was Carter who then came home strong winning the final two moto's of the event, but it was not enough to catch Cooper who cruised across the line in fourth position in the final race to seal the Victory.

In the White Powersports MX2 class it was Josiah Natzke and Hamish Harwood who split the race wins between them, with Natzke taking three race wins along with a second and third place moto finish to claim the overall win from Harwood who finished the day with two wins, two second's and a third in the five moto race format.
