13th-26th June - It has been a big two weeks in terms of getting our 2015 Suzuki RM-Z450 prepared for this years Hattah Desert Race. We kicked off on Saturday the 13th of June with a ride at Kimba in South Australia on our way to Ceduna for the second round of the Peter Stevens South Australian motocross Championship.

After spending the previous weekend away at Finke and not riding for two weeks, it was great to throw a leg over and get some bike time. The moto gods were also on our side that day, with some nice consistent rain in the area providing us with a track full of sandy red loam!
Nothing beats rocking up to a great track that has had nature drop just the right amount of water into it for you
After Saturday's quick ride, we lined up Sunday at Ceduna for some good sand practice, racing in the Vets B class. After a solid first moto, the second moto got off to an interesting start as I decided to turn myself into a human pingpong ball down the start straight! Nearly two weeks on and I am still unsure how I did not hit the deck!

The weekend also provided the first opportunity to try out the new Fox FLEXAIR racewear. It really is some great new age race wear. It is extremely lightweight, the pants conform to the shape of your legs perfectly but still allow plenty of room in the knee area for knee braces. The material used also grips the seat like nothing I have worn before, we will run through a full review on the new FLEXAIR gear after we put it to a four hour torture test in a couple of week time!
With a few rides now under our belt on the 2015 Suzuki RM-Z450 we are feeling completely at home
With the weekend over it was actually a pretty quiet week. Between updating the website and unloading shipping containers on the side, which has turned out to be the majority of my physical training for this years race! it was a pretty quiet week.

The following Sunday (21st June) we headed to a local South Aus track at Tea Tree Gully for some more ride time, the original plan was to ride both Saturday and Sunday, but with a cold starting to set in, I was only able to find the energy to ride one day. The good news is I am feeling more than at home on the 450 and after coming to grips with the extra power the 200 extra cc provides my bike speed actually seems to have increased somewhat!

On Monday the 22nd we received a package from the good people over at Steve Cramer Products with two USWE hydration packages arriving to have us sorted for the big race, we will get into some more details on them next Friday as we run through what we have packed for the weekend.
I nice little package from the guys at John Titman Racing!
The following day our graphics arrived from Ringmaster Images and once again the boys have delivered, out of all the sets they have designed for us over the years, this one has to be my favourite. And yes this year I am going to have a crack at putting them on myself, which I have started already!

The product continued to roll in on Wednesday with a big package arriving from John Titman racing, with a range of products from chains, grips, plastics, sprockets and a ton of bling ready to be bolted on this weekend! We have a lot of work in front of us that is for sure.

Check back in next week as we run over exactly what we have done to our Suzuki RM-Z450 for this years event and what essentials we have packed into our gear bag for this years big race.
