2015 Hattah Diary WEEK 3

We are into week three in our eight week run into Hattah, it was not much of a week in terms of preparation due to a busy week behind the keyboard however this coming weekend will be a big test.

Saturday May 16th: Today was another great day aboard the Suzuki RM-Z450. We spent the full day at the Gillman motocross track putting in lap after lap and playing around with the forks. Still getting my head around the forks, they feel fine and have some good confidence in the front end of the bike, but we will continue playing until I find a comfortable set of base air pressues for the inner, outer and balance sections of the fork.

My pace on a familiar track and dirt I am happy with, but the real test will come in the coming weeks when the majority of our riding turns to sand!.

There was no Hattah Prep on Sunday, though spending 8 hours walking around Murray Bridge taking photos could be considered a work out!

Sunday May 17th: As much as we would love to be out doing some more riding today, the MX Nationals are in town so it is off to Murray Bridge to swing off the lens for the day and watch the best MX racers in the country go at it.

Monday May 18th to Thursday 21st: Really not much to report! It has been a very busy week formyself on the keyboard and still plenty to catch up on before we head to Wanbi in South Australia for the AORC rounds this weekend, still have to prep the bike!

On the positive side of things, Ringmaster Images have sent through a second proof of this years graphics, they are looking on point as always. Hopefully for Week 4 we will be able to post the final proof and won't be far away from having out bike looking the part for the remainder of 2015.

Some last minute late Friday night bike prep ready for the weekend.

Friday 22nd May: Still miles behind were I would have liked to been this week! Headed out to the Shed at 3pm to finally get the bike ready for the weekend after running around all day, including a quick trip down to Motorcycling South Australia HQ to get my license renewed.

Picked up some numbers to run on the bike this weekend only to get home and realise I did not get enough numbers! Luckily the front plate off our 2012 RM-Z250 will fit and the backing off one of the number 8's along with a little clear sticky tape will do the job for the weekend.

The only other things we have done to be ready for the weekend was to fit a clean and freshly oiled Funnel Web air filter and bolt on our Racetech Handguards.

It is 11pm on Friday night, it has been a long week and the alarm is set for 3.40am ready for the 240km trip to Wanbi, looking forward to a good weekend in the sand!.
