The premier event of the North Brisbane Junior Motorcycle Club has solidified itself as one of the most exciting and fun events on the Queensland calendar, attracting some of Australia‰Ûªs best current dirt track talent, as well as some of the world‰Ûªs biggest dirt track legends. 2014 will be no exception.
The racing program will feature 50cc demo classes, through to Quads, Sidecars and Women‰Ûªs classes, and the main events, Gear Factor‰Ûªs Unlimited Glenn Fien North Brisbane Cup Feature Race and the Invitational Legends Challenge.
The Gear Factor‰Ûªs Unlimited Glenn Fien North Brisbane Cup Feature Race always attracts current Australian dirt track stars such as Jace Castles, Hunter Anderson, Luke Gough, Luke Richards and Darcy Ward. With $2000 in prize money up for grabs in the 20 lap main Feature race, nail-biting racing is guaranteed.
In the past the Invitational Legends Challenge has seen legends like Troy Bayliss, Chris Vermeulen and Garry McCoy. This year the North Brisbane Junior Motorcycle Club is thrilled to welcome last year‰Ûªs Invitational Legends Challenge winner Luke Gough, Super Bike rider Daniel Stauffer, multiple Australian Motocross Champion Stephen Gall, 2003 World Supersport Champion and MotoGP superstar Chris Vermeulen, World Superbike and MotoGP legend Garry McCoy, 2004 Supersport World Champion Karl Muggeridge, Australian Superbike, AMA and Australian Endurance rider Ben Attard, 3 times World Speedway Champion Jason Crump, multiple Japanese Motocross Champion, AMA and Australian motocross and Super Cross rider Takeshi Katsuya, Australian Motocross Legend Scott Bishop, Australian Motocross Champion and 2011 3rd place getter at the World Vets Motocross Championships Mick Cook, and multiple Australian Motocross and Supercross champion and AMA Motocross and Supercross rider Daniel Reardon.
For spectators and lovers of dirt bikes alike, this event is not to be missed! It is a rare event to have so many Australian motorsport legends in one place, let alone getting back to their roots, donning their gear and playing in the dirt like the good old days.
With fantastic vantage points and a realistically priced bar available (from 12pm), theGear Factor North Brisbane Cup is a fantastic day out for the whole family. Gates open at 9am, with practice starting from 11am and racing kicking off at the conclusion of practice, continuing into the evening.
