2012 ASBK 250 Production Rider Number Applications now open

Posted:

Rider number applications for the all-new 2012 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) 250 Production class are now open.

Prospective riders must register their number with Motorcycling Australia (MA) in order to guarantee it for the 2012 series.

As this is the first year of the 250 Production class, rider numbers 1-10 will not be allocated. In future years, rider numbers 1-10 will be allocated to riders in the order that they finished the previous year's series.

Rider number application forms may be downloaded from the MA website at www.ma.org.au/suppregs and should be returned by 23 January 2012.

Applications received before 23 January 2012 will be given priority. Numbers that are outstanding after this date will be allocated to remaining riders as they are requested.

Completed application forms should be returned to:
Bec Kastenberger
Motorcycling Australia
PO Box 134
South Melbourne VIC 3205
Email: events@ma.org.au
Fax: (03) 9684 0555

Prospective riders should note that 14 year olds and above can compete in this class provided their licence is endorsed by their State Controlling Body.

Prospective riders should also note that the following bikes are eligible in this class: Kawasaki Ninja 250R (released 2008); Honda CBR250R (released 2011); Hyosung GT250R (released 2008); Megelli 250R and 250SE; Daelim VJF250 (released 2009).

For further information about the 250 Production class, please refer to rules located in Road Racing chapter of the 2012 Manual of Motorcycle Sport at www.ma.org.au/moms.
