10th Snowy Ride to raise money for Steven Walter Foundation

Posted:

The Around Australia Ride (AAR) commemorates the 10th anniversary of the annual Snowy Ride ‰ÛÒ The Snowy Ride exists to honour a request from Steven Walter to celebrate motorbikes, life in general and to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer so ‰Û÷That no other kid has to go through what he did‰Ûª.

Steven Walter was only nineteen years of age when he died after a heroic eight-year fight against cancer. Steve's whole life revolved around motorcycles, both racing and pleasure. He was a former NSW Junior Enduro Champion and an Australian Four Day Silver medallist.

He rode for the ADB Junior Enduro Team. His passion spread to the road where he rode a CBR 600. His last big ride was to tour Tasmania with a group of his friends and family. One of Steve's final requests was that a motorcycle event be run to raise money for the Children's Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA) and help find a cure for childhood cancer.

This epic Around Australia Ride two wheeled adventure begins in Tenterfield and will unfold over 36 days with Paul Moran, Anthony van Gastel and Paul Clisdell as Two Wheels For A Cause (TWFAC).

The team will be travelling with approximately 55 other riders, support crew and vehicles all the way around our nation to the finish line at Thredbo.

‰ÛÏThis ride represents a fine achievement and a tip-of-the cap by the fantastic community support we have received for just on 10 years now. Our cause couldn‰Ûªt be better and we are very proud of this ride and are all looking forward to the adventure of a lifetime," said Allan McGuirk

Two Wheels For A Cause is 3 mates doing anything and everything they can to raise money to fund a cure for childhood caner- The ‰Û÷two wheels‰Ûª bit eludes to our love of all things motorbike related.

The first venture for TWFAC is to ride around Australia ...yup, we know how to start small...

‰ÛÏThe motorbike trip of a lifetime, with the benefit of knowing you are making a change to the lives of young children with every kilometre ‰ÛÒ this is a really, really good thing‰Û
