The Sun shines on the Shell Advance Sunshine State Motocross Series

After having 2 rounds of the 2010 Shell Advance Sunshine State Motocross Series cancelled due to bad weather, the QMX and MQ got together and realised that drastic action needed to be taken for the Series to survive.
Never in the 20 year history of the Shell Advance Sunshine State Motocross Series has there been the need to cancel 2 consecutive rounds. With the Series taking such a blow there was a need to reformat without compromising the Clubs and other MX Series’.
The 2010 Shell Advance Sunshine State Motocross Series is now a 5 Pointscoring Round Series. Round 1 – 6/7 Feb Coolum – Run and Won.
Round 2 Roma – cancelled. $20.00 from each entry will be retained as per 3.10 in the Supplementary Regulations.
Round 3 Tivoli – transferred to 5/6 June 2010 Round 4 – Hervey Bay 20/21 March 2010 Round 5 – Toowoomba 1 / 2 May 2010 Round 6 - TBA – 22/23 May - Roma have applied and been granted to run Round 6.
- Round 3 Tivoli 5/6 June 2010 ALL ENTRIES FOR ROUND 3 TIVOLI WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE CARRIED TO Round 3B TIVOLI 5/6 JUNE – UNLESS
THE RACE SECRETARY IS OTHERWISE NOTIFED BY EMAIL OR LETTER IN POST PRIOR TO 19TH May. Do not sms.
For competitors wishing to Transfer their Round 2 Cancelled Roma Entry – you will need to send a new entry form in, $20.00 (cheque/money order) and write at the top TRANSFER ROMA TO - A transfer of the Roma entry round does not mean automatic acceptance, entry date will be on receipt of the new entry form with the aforementioned fee. Roma entries will NOT be tranfered.
For Refunds please supply your bank details so a refund can be done to return funds from the cancelled rounds.* if required.
When talking with Chris Lynis of Moto National he said “We here at Moto National, distributor for Shell Advance, have been as disappointed as anyone else at the forced cancellations of the last two rounds due to extreme weather conditions. Now that QMX and MQ have taken the unprecedented step of re-scheduling those meeting at a later date, we can all look forward to another strong series of racing.”
“In working with the recent circumstances that are beyond our control, the close working alliance between QMX, MQ and myself to get a resolution that encompasses the Competitor, the Sponsors and the effected Clubs has ensured the best interests of the Series are at heart and we are extremely happy with the above outcome” said Katherine Rumble, Series Race Secretary.
