Serco Yamaha ready to roll in 2010

Yamaha's official Pro Lite race team, Serco Yamaha is back for 2010 and primed for success.
The race team are the ultimate marketing package for their entire Serco catalogue of imported products and prove the old saying, "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" still exists.
Now in their sixth year as the factory backed Pro Lite team, Serco Yamaha continue to prove that off the shelf products and good racing knowledge can build championship winning bikes, not unobtainable parts and an unlimited bank accounts.
"We are in the fortunate position where the products we import can be used directly on the race bikes just as any customer would buy them. All the parts on our race bikes are available to the public and our race team is the proving ground of the performance and durability of those products," says owner Gavin Eales.
No more is that evident than in Serco's inhouse range of products, SPP. SPP covers anything and everything from holeshot buttons and anodised parts through to the custom made decals that grace the race bikes. If there is a problem in the product, you can be sure the race team will unearth it, develop it and ensure that it is top shelf before it reaches the market. The race track is the perfect testing grounds for any new product.
Headlining Serco's list of sponsors for 2010 is Answer Racing. The new James Stewart inspired and tested line of riding apparel has returned the company to the glory days of racing where the world's top riders used Answer. Pirelli tyres have also stepped up to support the factory squad and with their new range of Scorpion tyres, hooking up on the tracks of Australia won't be a problem. Hot Cams, RK chains, Factory Effex, DRD and a host of others have also thrown their support behind Serco Yamaha and look for big things in 2010.
Maybe the most important ingredient is the new 2010 YZ250F. The totally redesigned motocross bike has won rave reviews around the world and since stepping on the new machine late in 2009, the Serco Yamaha team were right at the front of the Super X championship.
"No doubt we are impressed with the new bike, continues Eales. "It makes our job of building a complete race bike that much easier when the factory provide us with such a good platform.”
Yamaha's Motorsport Manager, Ray Howard, is also optimistic about Serco's success in 2010. "They have recruited two of the fastest Lites riders in the country and have spent plenty of time dialing the bikes in. They have left nothing unturned in their preparation and we expect them to be right in the thick of the championship hunt in both motocross and supercross for 2010."
The MX Nationals start at Horsham,Victoria on March 28 where the Serco Yamaha team of Ford Dale and Kirk Gibbs will begin their quest for championship glory.
