Saturday the 31st of May and Sunday June 1st will see riders compete at rounds 4 and 5 of the Victorian Off Road Championship at Welshpool.
With weather expected to be fine but some morning fog. The riders should be in for some great riding with a great track set out by the Corner Inlet MCC.
Saturday will see riders compete on two 10 min laps on the Sandy track. With riders expected to be doing at least 6 heats, they are reminded to have their transponders fully charged before the event to help speed up the results throughout the day.
Sunday will see both the junior and senior riders compete on a 20 minute loop, where it’s once again expected to be sandy. With the juniors competing for 1½ hours there should be some great duels between up and coming riders like Trav Cooper, Ashley Day, Jesse Milner, Alex Bolton and Aaron Bonfadini.
The senior riders are expected to be competing on the grueling track for three hours. With the pro riders all expected to do well, it can be expected that there will also be some great action. With ISDE representative Blake Hore, Todd Stephenson, Brett Barret, Matt Fish, Jehi Willis, Mark Portbury and Mark Goggin all expected to be in contention for the 25 points it will most likely come down to fitness and bike reliability to who takes the honours.
If results from the latest 3 hour club race at Ballarat are an indicator which saw Fish and Willis duel for the full 3 hours, then it really will be “On Like Donkey Kong!!” come Sunday.
Racing starts at 9am on Saturday, and Sunday sees the Juniors start at 9 and the Seniors
