The Red Bull Romanics Enduro Rallye has earned the title 'legendary' due to having and making full use of the most comprehensive natural Enduro terrain available and being the toughest and hardest Enduro Rallye in the World.
Simply thousands of kilometers of Enduro Rallye terrain in Romania has been ridden extensively over the last few months by organiser Martin Freinademetz, thousands and thousands of kilometres of trails and paths were searched, checked and analysed to create a new and even more exciting route for the third edition.
From all this research a 1300 kilometre long track has been planned and created using only the very best and most perfect forest trails, tracks and paths.
The route crosses rivers, drives along and through awesome mountain valleys, then climbs up 2000+ metres, onto, and over the beautiful and scenic Carpathian Mountains.
Giving riders every opportunity to test, use each and practice every single Enduro riding skill they have ever learnt and mastered. This event is all about testing personal stamina and strength, testing mental willpower and maximising each and every technical ability.
Professional riders cannot fail to want to meet this challenge head on, most who entered in 2004/2005 are returning in 2006, they will have more 'Professional routes only' which will really enable them to stretch and challenge their riding abilities.
There are no laps on the course, not one single metre of track is ever ridden again, no road books are required, no specialist fuel tanks needed, all navigation is by a completely marked track. Demanding for every Enduro rider, no matter if on the extremely technical professional track or on the easier hobby tracks.
One of the last big adventures, which brings man and nature into physical contact again. To profit from the longer daylight and shorter nights again next year, the race will be between August 13th and 19th, 2006.
Planned changes for the Red Bull Romaniacs 2006: Trying to come back to the leading thoughts from 2004 and to that year's originally planned track: the 2006 Start will be in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. After a 6-day off-road route, that reaches as far as the Danube at Orsova, the race will end with a finish-leg in Sibiu. Because of the long distances we have introduced some wider trails, where you can really shift those high gears. There are also many new and exiting technical routes.
Costs: gaps in the budget will be filled up with sponsorships, to keep the participation fee low. With an additional racing day, higher costs for accommodation in the various hotels in 2006 will mean a participation fee of €1.080. As before, racing costs, accommodation with half-board and finish-spaghetti, as well as the gasoline needed along the track are all included.
Classes: In addition to the pro and team classes, hobby and quad/ATV will be introduced. Professional class: for racing riders with international competition experience. Team class (2 riders): for trained riders with experience on a national level. Hobby class (2-3 riders): easier and shorter tracks than the teams' one, nevertheless hard Enduro experience and endurance are a must. Quad/ATV team class (2 riders): almost the same in length and technical demand as the hobby class track; single trails will be avoided.
Track: - Day 1: Prologue Start at 12:00, 13.08.2006 in Bucharest. After the prologue, professionals, team, hobby and quad/ATV classes will start towards the mountains heading for Sinaia.
- Day 2: Sinaia - Sibiu
